Abstract:
The internet revolution has enabled the coming in to existence of a very powerful alternative media, the world over. So too in India in the last few years, especially in the face of the lies being spread by the Prime Minister and his party regarding development, minorities, women, dalits … Numerous online platforms have come alive to take a stand against the false propaganda. It is in this context the present research would like to study at least three prominent sites which provide an alternative view of what’s happening in the country. These online sites cover stories which the mainstream media ignore because of reasons best known to them. The paper would like to argue that the alternative view being provided by the three sites is a source of empowerment for its readers.
